Dear friends Assalam-o-alaikum
BPPA members donated the money to help education in the Swat Valley during the chairmanship of Dr Hasan Jawaid following taleban insurgence in that area. Unfortunately because of the security situation, we were unable to make use of that money up till now. With stability in the area we were able to identify this school that caters for orphan boys and girls from Swat Valley and have a track record of success over the last 18 years from a very humble beginning.
I am in-debt to my friends Dr Agha Tariq Sajjad and his wife Dr Anita Tariq for facilitating this project, through their Aghas Trust, by buying the required equipments in Pakistan and transporting them to Swat. They also visited the Foundation last week to see it for themselves and have spoken very highly of the work the foundation is doing for local children’s education and development. I have attached some of the photographs that they have sent me for your information.
Our next project is to provide the orphan children at the school with 300 duvets with covers, replacing swings and some more sports equipment. The Duvets have been ordered and the covers will be made locally in Swat at an industrial home, providing much needed employment. These will be ready before the winter sets in, Inshallah.
I once again thank you all for the generous donations and we will keep you updated.
Dr Mateen Durrani
