Dr Rahat Ghafoor is child and adolescent Psychiatrist and Associate Medical Director (AMD for post graduate education) at Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust. She is graduate of Rawalpindi medical university. She was BPPA executive representative for Trent in 2015, became liaison Secretary in 2021 and has become BPPA Trent executive for second time after that.
She is executive member of Royal college of Psychiatrists Transcultural SIG. She is an Appraiser for LPT, CESR evaluator & MRCPsych CASC examiner for Royal college of Psychiatrists.
She actively participates in medical student recruitment, teaching, training and examining for University of Leicester.
she was educational lead for CAMHS trainees in Leicester from 2021-2023.
She is passionate about raising awareness of mental health issues in young people and champions in transition of young people from CAMHS to AMHS. She enjoys teaching and training others and supports medical students and trainees in her current role as AMD at LPT.
She has been active in organising conferences and educational events as BPPA executive and has represented the organisation in national and international forums.
