Maryam graduated from Rawalpindi Medical University in 2019 and subsequently completed the UK Foundation Programme, where a rotation in psychiatry ignited her passion for mental health. She is now a CT1 psychiatrist working in Hertfordshire, actively contributing to the field, committed to improving patient care, and advocating for mental health awareness.
As a junior doctor lead within the British Pakistani Psychiatrists Association, Maryam is pivotal in fostering professional connections through networking events and conferences. Her work focuses on supporting junior doctors, organizing professional development opportunities, and creating open discussion and collaboration spaces. Passionate about mentoring and guiding others, she is dedicated to helping her peers navigate their careers in psychiatry while promoting inclusion and representation within the field.
